The only issue when planting this you should not plant it right next to a foundation wall or driveway.

Clumpers form a tight cluster of gently arching culms extending from a relatively small root mass. The root system grows in a small area but it dense and powerful. A perfect specimen for smaller gardens and courtyards. It grows quickly to form a large clump 15 to 18 feet tall.

It will push through a foundation wall or damage a driveway if planted next to it. The fargesia genus provides some of the hardiest clumpers and one cultivar in particular green panda reaches 6 8 feet so when planted in a group it makes an excellent screen plant bamboo in spring not fall to avoid winter burn on plants.
